A Quick Card That Didn't Make the Cut

About 35 minutes before my bowling league's banquet this evening, one of the gals on my team called me and asked about the card I made for the team door prize.  GASP!  I had actually fogotten to make the dang thing.  Don't you just hate when that happens??!!  I gotta tell ya too, that working under such a time limit really cramps my style. In fact if I were to define my "style" it would include the fact that all my projects seem to take me twice as long to create as it would any other normal human papercrafting being.  Okay so with only 35 minutes to have it ready to go,  I ran to my craft room and whipped out some really fun October Afternoon Paper from the Fly a Kite and Report Card paper packs. I also decided to use the Mojo Monday sketch #135 as my inspiration because I really liked it and I figured enter a challenge AND make a card for the event...two birds...one stone. Yippee! Yeah... okay... ummm... no.  Why?  Because I forgot to add a major part of the sketch to the card! Argh!  I was in such a dang hurry to finish that I left out an important part of the design and I think the missing part is so evident that I am not planning on entering this one at the Mojo Monday blog either.

Ah well, even though this card didn't make the cut, I did learn that there is an up-side to omitting a third of a sketch design. You get the card done a whole lot quicker! In fact, I had time to spare...it wasn't until I got home tonight and looked at the photos that I took of the card before I left for the event that I realized what I had done. Drat.  Can you tell what is missing from the design?  If you think you can, leave a comment on this post telling me what you think and I'll give you an extra entry into my blog candy giveaway that is still going on until midnight Wednesday the 21st.  More information about the giveaway is available by clicking on the link at the top of my blog.  (Update on April 21, 2010.... I entered the card...what the heck!) :-)

Adorable! Love it! And how cool that you embossed the envelope, too.

You are missing the border (scalloped) part.

I really like this card. The colors are so light and airy it makes the card really readable and soft. By the layout design I thought - whoa too busy - but you did an excellent job and it looks really nice.
