Celebrate Today with a Cuttlebug Accessory Plate You are Gonna Love!

If you are a Cuttlebug™ user (like I am), then you know that it's often necessary to use shims for embossing or cutting with some dies. Sometimes I can even go a little crazy trying to figure out whether I need one shim, two shims...(and I so hate wasting both paper and time trying to figure out how to get the most detail) well, Cheery Lynn Designs has this fabulous little tool to end your shim woes and I am so loving on this little accessory plate. It was developed for Cuttlebug™ users to be able to cut finer details and larger images without a large number of shims. This is a special stainless steel that will help support the cutting activity. It works fabulously for embossing too! These plates will become marked and even dented but will still continue to be a great tool for easy cutting and embossing!  I actually use the plate for all my cutting and even a lot of my embossing by putting the plate between my A and C (for Cutting) or A and B plate (for embossing). It works like a dream and I do believe my shim woes have been forever cured by Cheery Lynn Designs.
I used that handy-dandy little plate to create the darling little dimensional buttons that I cut to embellish this quick and easy card. Cheery Lynn Designs offers six different die plates each of them with a dozen or more button dies! That's a lot of buttons to choose from! I used three of the buttons from the Dimensional Button 3 set to embellish this card.  Look at the detail achieved when you use these fabulous little dies!

To create this card, I cut a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cardbase with Kraft cardstock. I then selected three circle dies from the Circle Little Stackers Nesting Dies and taped them (cut side up) inside the front of the card (with removable tape). I then ran it through my Cuttlebug to create three cut circles in the card front.

Tip: Taping the dies keeps them from moving around when you cut.

Then I adhered patterned paper and matching cardstock behind each one of the holes and messy (very messy!) sewed around each one of the circles with my sewing machine.  Then I cut three different size buttons from the Dimensional Buttons 3 die pack.  These dies are seriously amazing! One pass through the Cuttlebug (with my accessory plate) and you have a beautifully cut and embossed button!  How cool is that?!

I spritzed the buttons with some glimmer mist, tied them up with some twine and adhered them to each of the circles. Stamp the sentiment, add pearls and a pretty little bow and you have a quick and easy card! Ta-da!

Tip: Cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of white cardstock and adhere to the inside front of the card to hide the sewing and tape.

Below are the links to the Cheery Lynn Designs supplies I used in this project so you can purchase your own! Now go forth and Celebrate Today with Cheery Lynn Designs dies and don't forget the accessory plate!
